About the event

On the sandy shores, by the ocean blue,

A group of children gathered, their dreams anew,

Their eyes lit up with joy and glee,

As they gazed out at the vast, open sea.

The sun was shining bright, the waves were calm,

But these children had more than just their arms,

For they were joined by a special friend,

A jolly, old man who knew no end.

Santa himself had come to play,

And brought with him, a special way,

To ride the waves, and feel the breeze,

Adapted surf equipment, made with ease.

Each child, with a smile so wide,

Strapped onto boards, ready to ride,

Guided by volunteers, with gentle care,

Into the waves, they flew without a care.

The ocean swelled, the surf grew high,

But nothing could dim these children's light,

For they felt the freedom of the sea,

And nothing could ever take that away.

As the day drew to a close,

The children said their goodbyes with rose,

Their hearts full of laughter and cheer,

Grateful for a day, without any fear.

For on this day, they felt free,

They felt alive, in every degree,

And they knew, that no matter what came to be,

They could always ride the waves, with Santa, and be free

Come and bring your picnic for a party on the beach with your special friends.  We will have Santa giving surf lessons, alongside South Shields Surf School, Beach Access North East with their adapted wheelchairs, an interactive drumming band and so many more surprises.
